BOOM! Hear the roar of history! See Civil War artillery in action, operated by trained living history reenactors. Learn about the ranks, responsibilities, and technology operated by an Artillery Battery during set demonstrations at 10:30 am, 11:30 am, 1:30 pm, and 2:30 pm on Saturday, May 17 and Sunday, May 18. See photo magic happen! Watch as your family’s picture appears on metal, just like in the 1860s! Fun for all ages. Period accurate and award winning ferrotype (tintype) photographer Eric Nelson uses genuine 1860s cameras to capture images in a one-of-a-kind experience. Remember your day with a one-of-a-kind souvenir tintype photo of your family! (Additional costs apply!)

Get ready to play like kids did 165 years ago! Join us for old-time kids’ games, plus a three-legged race and a sack race. The three-legged race will be 3:30pm on Saturday, May 17 and 1:00 pm on Sunday, May 18. The sack race will be at 11:00 am on Saturday AND Sunday.

‼️ IMPORTANT PARKING CHANGE‼️FOR Fields of Valor : Civil War History Weekend‼️

Parking for Friday night’s Candlelight Tour will be on-site at the Maplewood Area Historical Society, located at 2170 Co Rd D E, Maplewood, MN 55109.

Parking for our regular General Admission Days, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm on Saturday, May 17, and 10:00 am – 4:00 pm on Sunday, May 18, will now be at Mariner Middle School, located on nearby McKnight Street.

If you are attending the Barn Dance and Wedding Hop at 5:30 p.m on Saturday, then parking will be in the Maplewood Area Historical Society’s overflow parking lot at 2170 Co Rd D E, Maplewood, MN 55109. Staff will be available to direct you to on-site parking for the Barn Dance & Wedding Hop.

Shuttle service is included in your ticket fee – there is no additional cost to ride the shuttle. The shuttle runs approximately every ten minutes between MAHS and Mariner Middle School, and is ADA Accessible.

The entrance to the parking lot is on the west side of the street, approximately at 3504 McKnight Road, White Bear Lake, 55110.
