The Maplewood Area Historical Society is proud to present another season of one-of-a-kind hands-on and experiential day-camps for youth ages 6 – 16 at the beautiful 1891 Bruentrup Heritage Farm in Maplewood, MN as well as the quaint 1888 Eder Schoolhouse in Oakdale, MN. Nestled among 25 acres of restored rolling prairie, the Bruentrup Heritage Farm offers a unique setting for youth to explore many facets of our local history with professional historians, artists, culinary-experts, and architects!

Culinary Camp
Join the staff of the Maplewood Area Historical Society as we explore the culinary history of our local Dakota, Yankee-American, German, and Hmong peoples! This camp has limited availability, so register early to secure your student. Campers in Grades 6-9. Noon – 5:00 PM, Monday - Thursday. All supplies included. $310 per camper.

Farm-to-Table Camp
Learn where your food comes from! Explore the science behind butter, cheese, and bread by making your own FROM SCRATCH and eating the results. Campers will also learn about 'old timey' life on the farm, make arts & crafts, and play some old fashioned games. $240 per camper. 9AM - 4PM. Bring your own lunch! Morning and afternoon snack provided.

Recess Camp
New this year! Join us on the farm during Fridays this summer for full days of recess including games like capture the flag, lawn games, group games, or a fun-on-the-farm obstacle course. Homestead Camp
New this year! Homestead Camp is a continuation of our popular Farm-to-Table Camp for middle-school campers. Delve deeper into the science and practice of self-sufficient and sustainable skills like composting, gardening, cooking, and more! For campers entering Grades 6-8, $240 per camper. One Room Schoolhouse Camp
New this year! One Room Schoolhouse Camp takes campers back in time to experience life in the 1888 Eder Schoolhouse in Oakdale, MN. Campers will have fun learning about history, practicing old fashioned skills, and enjoying plenty of recess time and old fashioned games! For campers entering Grades 1-3, $240 per camper. History Detectives Camp
New this year! Discover what it's like to be a historian by solving a history's mystery through exploring historic artifacts, archeology, and research. Learn to interpret these real-life historical stories and put together a student curated exhibit at the end of the week by becoming a real Museum Curator at the Maplewood Area Historical Society! Variety Week
New this year! Join us for a sampler week of our camp activities at the Bruentrup Heritage Farm. Each variety week varies slightly for age groups and subject matter, with themes including culinary skills, creative writing, ``Little House on the Prairie,`` and more.
