Join us for a discussion featuring:
• Ann Marie Rogers: Maplewood homeowner since 1966
• Don Colbert: Maplewood homeowner since 1969
We will delve into the experiences of Black residents in Maplewood as documented in the 1967 Minneapolis Star article “Negroes in the Suburbs.”
This article highlighted the growing Black population in Maplewood and the challenges faced by early Black residents.
This meeting will provide an opportunity to:
• Share personal stories and perspectives on the historical and contemporary experiences of Black residents in Maplewood.
• Learn from the experiences of Ann Marie Rogers and Don Colbert, who moved to Maplewood in the 1960s.
• Engage in a respectful and open dialogue about the past and its impact on the present.
