We are here to answer your questions and help you find the resources to perfect your look. Ladies and gents\, come join us for an afternoon of touring the history of fashion. Whether you are aiming for absolute accuracy\, want to do some history bounding\, or just want a really good Halloween costume\, we can help you on your way. \nThis event is presented by the Living History Society of Minnesota in conjunction with the Maplewood Area Historical Society. Anders to learn more about African American life in Minnesota during the formative years from the 1850s when it was still a territory to early statehood in the through the 1880s. This presentation explores the stories of communities and individuals who contributed to the region’s early development. We’ll explore the multifaceted roles of the early residents as homesteaders\, barbers\, shop owners\, Civil War veterans\, and more. Through a blend of personal narratives and historical records\, we’ll examine the challenges and triumphs of these early residents. \nMica L Anders is an artistic placemaker and professional genealogist who uses her passions for history and art to reintroduce clients to their ancestors and to create community history exhibits focused on putting the stories and contributions of under-represented communities back into local history
